Arrangements for Passes and Permits
We issue a variety of passes and permits. These are usually administered by the Year Team. Uniform Pass Issued upon receipt of a written explanation from parents only in exceptional circumstances. The Head of Year will countersign the letter with the expiry date for the agreement, which will act as the pass and will record the issuing of such a pass. The student is required to show the countersigned pass to members of staff upon request. Jewellery Pass Student may be exempted from the ban of wearing personal jewellery if their parents write the Head teacher requesting consideration for permission being given for an item to be worn due to religious requirements. Lesson Pass Students should only leave a classroom for exceptional reasons and when authorised by the class teacher. The student must carry a Lesson Pass issued by the teacher from whose lesson the student has been given permission to leave. A Lesson Pass is a laminated A4 sheet with the teacher’s name and the academic years for which it is valid printed on it. Exit Pass A student with special educational need or/and with challenging behaviour may be issued with a time limited Exit Pass by their Head of Year. If this is shown to the teacher the student must be allowed to leave immediately for an agreed period of time. Toilet Pass A student with known medical needs may be issued with a time limited Toilet Pass by their Head of Year. If this is shown to the teacher, the student must be allowed to leave the classroom immediately to use the toilet facilities. Exceptional Leave of Absence Form These are obtained from the main office and should be used to request consideration for an Exceptional Leave of Absence.
