DEPARTMENTAL NEWS Year 7 Resistant Materials

The students in Year 7 resistant materials, have been looking at creating bird boxes. From learning about health and safety in the wood workshop, to designing and creating a spectacular bird box to take home.

Year 8 Resistant Materials

Year 8 have been doing a great job at designing and creating a pinball machine. From looking at designing on paper, to designing on computers, students have loved looking at the mechanics of pin ball games. Year 7 Graphics Students have been looking into the world of typography. Learning about letters, designing their own name tags and eventually, designing their own 3D letter inspired by things they enjoy.

Year 9 Resistant Materials

Year 9 have been designing and creating a functional clock, in which they have learned the mechanics of the clock mechanism, health and safety in a wood workshop, along with painting their clocks, in their own design.

Year 8 Graphics Students have been looking at film and movie posters, as their inspiration for their graphics topic this term. Students have looked at films such as: Batman, Frozen, and Up to redesign their own posters for these films.
