Year 9 Art In art, the Year 9s are learning about culture, specifically Mexican culture. Looking at the artwork of Frida Kahlo and Jose Posada, students are creating some amazing artist study pages in their sketchbook. Students have ended the school year learning the skill of monoprinting, learning how to print, mix colours and create a gradient when printing.

Year 10 Workshop On Friday 21st June, Year 10 GCSE art students, were rewarded with a special workshop from local Southampton based artist Abeer Kayani. Students learned about the multi-curricula discipline of Islamic Geometric Artwork, along with experimental use watercolour, salt and creating geometric patterns. Students really enjoyed being off timetable for this one-off workshop!

Year 10 Art Students have been working on their final pieces for their longest project to date – I, Me, Mine. They recently completed a 200 minute mock exam for their GCSE in art. Students have been working on a multitude of disciplines of painting, sculpture, oil pastels and textiles. Miss Brookes is very proud of each student’s work ethic and drive throughout this academic year.
