Tenerife Trip Years 9-11 students, recently completed a four day educational trip to Tenerife, combining academic learning with exploration of this Canary Island with Miss Gilbert-Twigg and Miss Northfield. Students ascended Mount Teide, Spain’s highest peak, where they studied volcanic formations and geological processes, while enjoying panoramic views. The following day included a visit to a local banana plantation, to learn about sustainable agriculture and it’s economic importance, followed by an authentic Spanish tapas meal, where students practiced their language skills. Day three, featured a team-based scavenger hunt through Puerto de la Cruz, promoting collaboration and cultural awareness, with afternoon relaxation at Lago Martianez. The final day began with a visit to San Blas Environmental Reserve, to study conservation efforts, before returning to the UK.
Throughout the experience, students demonstrated notable growth in confidence, curiosity and cultural understanding, while developing knowledge across geography, biology, spanish, and environmental studies.
