Year 10 Business Studies Students have been studying finance in business and also the marketing influences on business, concentrating on ethical and technological influences. Students have been issued with their log in details to join the Smart Revise platform and are enjoying using it for low stake quizzes and mini assessments, to prepare them for their first mock towards the end of the summer term. Special mention to Kinti for being the top performers in the class.

Social Sciences

Our school was lucky enough to be one of just five from across Southampton, invited to join in on the fun. The students jumped right in, quickly getting the hang of satellite mapping technology and using it to track flood patterns and glacial movements. It was amazing to see how engaged they were, working with real-world environmental data and discovering how geographers and scientists keep tabs on our changing planet. Miss Baillie and Miss Gilbert-Twigg couldn’t have been prouder, seeing our students so involved and excited about geographical concepts in action. The students were totally absorbed in the mapping exercises, barely noticing the time fly by as they explore the digital world from above. They listened attentively, asked thoughtful questions and showed incredible respect to the university staff and facilities. The event organisers even commented on how well-mannered and enthusiastic our group was. Once again, our students have brilliantly represented our school in the wider community, showing exactly what makes our school special. We look forward to further collaboration and participating in events in the future.

Our Geo-Wizards Map the World from Southampton Lab Nine of our enthusiastic geography students got their hands on some seriously cool tech on Wednesday 12th March. They headed to the University of Southampton’s computer lab for an after school workshop called ‘Exploring Earth: Learn to Map Floods and Glaciers Using Satellites’ from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.
