Regents Review Spring 2022
The Regents Review Spring 2022
DEPARTMENTAL NEWS
This year, we have introduced fortnightly role models. These are inspirational people from a wealth of backgrounds, who have achieved successes in life. It’s been great to see the students (and staff!) learning about different personalities in a variety of sports. Dance Live On Monday 7th February, Regents Park took part in Dance Live at Portsmouth Guildhall. It is an annual dance event with schools competing from across the south coast. Our team consisting of students from Year 7 to Year 11 were rehearsing since October to create our dance performance. They all had an amazing day competing with our piece entitled ‘The Greek Myth of Arachne and Athena’. It was our first time ever entering this competition which involved creating a dance piece performed in front of a giant LED screen. The students performed brilliantly and we received two awards – one for our concept and one for the journey to dance live video.
Outstanding achievement from our very own Lunlana in Year 10, gaining her football coaching course over February half-term, leading to development into coaching the Saints Academy girls outside of school, and our very own KS3 girls football team. A massive well-done.
An exciting opportunity is coming up for some girls in school, linking to ‘This Girl Can’ and the Women’s Euro’s 2022. This will be run by Miss Robinson, as an intervention workshop, developing our girls ambitions and aspirations, and working with our students to promote female participation at Regents Park.
