The Regents Review Spring 2022
DEPARTMENTAL NEWS
Social Sciences The Walk Centre Year 7 have been connecting with our partner school, The Walk Centre and have continued their penpal correspondence. We have had exciting discussions about the similarities and differences of the students they are speaking to and they are really beginning to understand how life is for children across the world! Sea City Museum Sea City Museum in Southampton kindly sent Regents Park three loan boxes with original and replica artifacts from World War Two and the tudor period. This generated a great deal of excitement and curiosity with Year 7 and 8 and created suspense throughout the department all day.
Tudors Year 7 have just finished the Tudor topic so it was fantastic to see them applying their knowledge to the various artifacts including a tudor hot water bottle and jewellery!
World War Two Year 8 have been focussing on World War Two and we have completed a timeline of events for people in Britain. Students studied newspapers and posters, played with playing cards and made an evacuation tree from the tags that were included. It really bought history to life! We hope to have more loan boxes from our work with Sea City Museum so look out for our next instalment!
