DEPARTMENTAL NEWS
Year 7 Football Team – Season Summary The Year 7 boys football team showed tremendous growth and determination throughout the season. Although the results didn’t always go their way - with 2 wins and 5 losses - the players demonstrated outstanding resilience, courage and teamwork in every match. Their commitment to improving, supporting one another and competing with heart was evident from the first whistle to the last. Training sessions were marked by enthusiasm and a real desire to improve. Many players took significant steps forward in their understanding of the game, positioning and teamwork. Their development is a credit not only to their individual efforts but also to the strong sense of unity that formed within the team. Credit
also goes out to all the boys that came to every training session each week! A standout highlight of the season was the emergence of Mazen, whose performances consistently lifted those around him. Having been to every training session and demonstrating incredible resilience in every match has earned him the title of player of
the season. Although the results may not always have reflected the team’s effort, this season has laid a strong foundation for the future. With the experience gained, the bonds built and the confidence they have developed, the Year 7 football team can move forward with excitement and belief in what they can achieve next year.
TGC & PE Champions Training Day On 23rd September, our 2025/26 cohort of TGC Ambassadors and PE Champions took part in a training day, preparing for a range of events across the academic year. Students demonstrated excellent character skills throughout this day and between Monday 1st - Friday 5th December, they showcased these throughout the TGC/PE Champion Week, where our student leaders led and taught lessons to Year 7 and 8 PE classes. The week focused on inclusivity in sport and included our student leaders delivering sports such as: goalball, blind football, seated volleyball, as well as leadership activities. The students are also really
looking forward to hosting charity fundraising events for the chosen charities this year, which will be revealed closer to the time of the fundraising event.
