DEPARTMENTAL NEWS Languages MFL is off to Paris!

A Visit From Onatti This year, the MFL department are looking to provide authentic French and Spanish experiences without the use of a passport! The first of these is two visits from the Onatti Theatre Company, who offer interactive experiences in both French and Spanish. In December, many of our French students were treated to the show “RSVP Respondez, s’il vous plait” and our Spanish students saw ‘Un ensayo desastrozo”. A review to follow in the next Regents Review!

We’re looking forward to sharing our pictures with you in the next Regents Review. The Parents’ Information Evening will likely be in early February, when we have all the information from the tour company. We will send information home as soon as possible. If students have any questions about the trip, please see Mrs Mouland in room 40. British Council - Where Will Languages Take You? As part of our Year 9 study on the world of work, students had the opportunity to virtually meet two speakers, who are using languages in their day to day jobs. We also discussed all of the different ways learning a second (or third in many of students’ cases!) language can help develop so many other employable skills, such as confidence and problem solving.

Language Nut The MFL department continue to be impressed with students’ effort on our online learning platform Language Nut. Below you will see the classes leaderboard. Remember Language Nut is a great resource to keep your languages fresh over the Christmas break- your usernames and passwords can found on your Google Classroom.
