DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Quiz of the Year On Wednesday 11th December, we were excited to host the Quiz of the Year, to raise money for the Sports Awards 2025! As always, we had our phenomenal Head TGC Ambassador and PE Champion Sophie and Lewis, as well as last year’s Head TGC Ambassador, Alana, taking centre stage, hosting the evening and showcasing their fantastic leadership skills through a range of exciting rounds. As a department, we were extremely excited to come together as a community of staff, students and their families, to raise money to celebrate another year of student success in PE and Sport at RPCC, through the Sports Awards 2025, which is on Thursday 1st May 2025.

Girls Football Wow! Girls football so far this year, has seen a huge increase in attendance to clubs and fixtures, with some new faces joining us, which has been amazing to see! It has been brilliant to watch the students grow in confidence and be excited to attend training each week. The Year 9/10 girls football team have finished their season, which has consisted of some real intense competition against local schools. The students have always upheld the values and ethos of RPCC, to which we are proud of. It has been great to watch the girls develop their teamwork and resilience during fixtures, even when results may not have gone our way! Well done to all involved and we currently are third in the table! are adhering to school rules. Many thanks for your support. The PE team wish you a restful and safe Christmas. We are really looking forward to welcoming you back in January for an action-packed term!

Netball During the autumn half term, the PE

department delivered a mixed netball club for all year groups, as part of the extracurricular offer requested by students. This involved 30 students, who have developed in all areas of our progress strands. This included: improved techniques, the understanding of the game, communication and teamwork, resilience and much more! The students thoroughly enjoyed this and it was a privilege to see the students developing their knowledge and skills in netball.

Reminders Please can we remind students that they should be wearing Regents Park PE kit for practical core, sports leaders and BTEC sport lessons. Please can you ensure your child is not wearing hooded jumpers, as this can cause harm to themselves and other students. They are permitted to wear the RPCC PE jumper or a plain blue or black jumper that doesn’t have a hood. If a student is unable to take part in PE, please ensure they have a note and their PE kit (they won’t take part practically but will engage in other roles throughout their lesson). If a student is unable to change, please get in touch with their PE teacher. Please check your child’s timetable and our uniform policy on the website to ensure they
