KS4 Boys Basketball Team The newly formed KS4 Boys Basketball team has had an incredible half term of hard work and dedication, training every Tuesday after school, to prepare for their debut in the SDSBA U16s League. Last Friday, the team had a valuable joint training session with Cantell school, where both schools
gained a lot from the collaborative experience, leaving our players feeling more confident and ready for the season ahead. The boys were excited to hit the court in their brand-new jerseys, with their first league fixture set for Tuesday 3rd December, against Bitterne Park school. Despite the added challenge of balancing training with their Year 11 mock exams, the team has shown remarkable commitment and resilience. We’re extremely proud of their efforts and the enthusiasm they’ve shown for basketball this term - well done boys! Training Day On 25th September, our 2024/25 cohort of TGC Ambassadors and PE Champions took part in a training day, preparing for a range of events across the academic year. Students demonstrated excellent character skills throughout this day and between Monday 2nd December and Friday 6th December, they showcased these throughout
the TGC/PE Champion week, where our student leaders taught lessons to Year 7 and 8 PE classes. During the last few weeks of term, we focussed on inclusivity in sport, where our student leaders delivered sports such as: goalball, blind football, seated volleyball, as well as leadership activities. The team had a brilliant session with Katlyn from Saints Foundation to prepare for the week.
