A book in every bag… The English Department continues to promote reading across the school and we endorse the idea of every student having a book in their bags at all times. Year 7 and 8 have weekly reading lessons and there are lots of opportunities for them to visit the library to choose books from the wide range on offer. Regents Reads! Do you? ‘Student of the Fortnight’ In the English Department we routinely celebrate excellent effort and attitude towards learning. In addition to other rewards, a student of the fortnight is nominated by each class teacher. This is displayed on the English corridor as part of our ‘Student of the Fortnight’ winners’ display and students also receive a certificate to place in their rewards folder. for her hard work in the English department and wish her lots of luck in her new role. We’ve also said goodbye to Miss Woolhouse who has left us to pursue other avenues – including keeping bees. She will also be missed by staff and students. Welcome... The English department would like to welcome Miss Donovan and Miss Fison who have officially joined us after passing their teacher training. We’d also like to say goodbye to Mrs Collis who, after over 10 years at RPCC, has left us to teach at a local primary school. We’d like to thank her
