DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Year 7 Cooking Adventure This half term many Year 7s have tried their hand at cooking independently for the first time. It has been a joy seeing their confidence grow and their practical skills improved as they safely demonstrate the bridge hold and claw grip. They have made fruit salads, seasonal cous cous, scones and fruit crumbles. Lots of smiles, lots of learning and lots of washing up!

Year 8 Healthy Cooking This half term our Year 8s have been developing their practical skills and working on multitasking independently whilst cooking. They have made rainbow salads, cakes and a DIY pot noodle. They

absolutely loved the pot noodle and what a fantastic and healthy after school snack this is. Perfect for using up leftovers and adding lots of vegetables to improve our vitamin intake over these cold winter months. They have been brilliant, well done Year 8.

Year 9 Italian Investigation This half term, our Year 9 hospitality & catering class have been carrying out an Italian investigation. They researched the flavours and signature dishes of various regions in Italy and creatively presented their findings in some beautifully designed booklets. They then made their first batch of fresh pasta, using our pasta machines and were surprised by the quantity made from just one egg and a handful of flour. Bella Pasta!
