Regents Review Summer 2025
The Regents Review Summer 2025
DEPARTMENTAL NEWS which was quite short, but very interesting. We had to wait a couple hours for a coach, so we played a couple games like ‘it’ and ‘charades’. After this, we went to the shopping centre and got some ingredients to make a milkshake. In the evening, we went to a traditional Spanish restaurant and had tapas. The chef also made us paella - we had a great time! Jueves (Thursday) We went to the lido and it was very cold, but we had a great time. We had a hot chocolate afterwards and then had free time to walk around and buy
Viernes (Friday) On Friday, we went to the San Blas Nature Reserve and we learned a few things about volcanoes and we went across a pond by pulling a roped boat ourselves. We then walked through a lovely hotel and got to a restaurant, where we had a nice lunch. After we went to the airport, Mani got lots from Burger King and spent loads of money, then we got on the airplane. Fortunately, it was a smooth flight home! We got back to school around 4am.
some stuff. We had McDonalds for lunch, and this was very different to our McDonalds. We then took part in a scavenger hunt and this was very good, as we got to explore the area and take some pictures. In the evening, we met some Danish and Spanish boys at the hotel, we even spoke some Spanish!
Year 10 Mock Exams Well done to all Year 10 linguists on the completion of their first Spanish speaking mock. Miss Gurung and Mrs Northfield are very proud of what you have achieved! Remember to keep up with a little vocabulary revision over the summer break and speaking intervention will resume every Wednesday after school from September. Community Languages The MFL department are looking for all speakers of Polish, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Bengali, Punjabi, Turkish, Italian, Farsi, Chinese, Urdu, Portuguese, Japanese, Persian and Russian, who are currently in Years 9 and 10. If you haven’t already done so, RPCC can enter you for a bonus GCSE in your home language in June 2026. Although we may not be able to help with the language itself, the MFL department can support you with essential exam skill and practice – we even have a dedicated Google Classroom, where past papers and other useful tips can be found. Please come and see Mrs Northfield, if this is something that interests you – we cannot enter you in for the GCSE without your parent’s permission.
Language Nut The MFL department continue to be impressed with students’ effort on our online learning platform Language Nut. On this page, you will see the school and class leaderboard. Remember, Language Nut is a great resource to keep languages fresh over the summer break. Student’s usernames and passwords can found on their Google Classroom.
