DEPARTMENTAL NEWS Year 8 Graphics Year 8 have began a new project based on perspective cities. Students learned keywords, drawing from one and two point perspectives, before creating their design ideas. Students choose a city as inspiration towards their final mixed media outcome.

Year 9 Photography Students have been working on their final rotation in design technology, which is photography. Students have been learning how to use a DSLR camera, how to research photographers and how to use Photoshop. Students have excelled in recreating photographers’ outcomes, discussing their own opinions and looking at the GCSE curriculum for photography.

Year 10 Photography Year 10 photography have recently started their own urban photography project, in which they have been photographing the patterns and texture of buildings in and around Southampton. KS3 Art Club KS3 art club have been making their own fabric cupcakes, by painting into fabric, then using a range of sewing techniques, such as: running stitch and back stitch, to add further visual elements to their designs.
