Cyber Ambassadors Our ambassadors are preparing for the next term in September, deciding the different activities starting with our open evening to highlight online safety.

Business Studies Year 10 have just completed their mock exam for paper 1 and will be preparing for the mocks in November for paper 2 and a full revision of the topics covered. Congratulations to Jamie & Jack for being stars of the year! Year 9 have been studying operation management, which is all about how products are made as the most effective production method. In September, they will move onto human resources. Congratulations to Lily and Andrei for being stars of the year!

Social Sciences Miss Harrison has been taking part in a research projection with the University of Southampton looking into the impact of the Titanic disaster on the local community. We have been exploring the impact on trade and migration, how it affected Southampton – as lots of the crew lived and were from Southampton, as well as, why it became such a disaster through both a historical and scientific lens. Once the research is complete, there will be series of lessons rolled out across Southampton for future KS3 students to learn about!

Germany / Austria Trip 2023 What a fantastic week we have had in Germany and Austria. Students got to sample the delights of Munich whilst undertaking some serious learning at Dachau. This visit allowed students to see and hear the poignant message of the impact of Nazi brutality. We relaxed in the English garden and tasted some fantastic traditional German food. The walking tour of Munich bought to life the study of the rise of the Nazis, as students were able to visit the site of the infamous beer hall putsch and the execution tower. The next stop was Salzburg – we stopped on route to visit the Eagles Nest, where Hitler sought sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the political world to plan his domination of Europe. This highlighted the intense nature of 1930s German. Then on for a bit of fun at the Alpine Slide, which the students loved. We also visited the salt mines
