Debate Club This term, Debate Club has been handling some tricky moral dilemmas such as: the ‘trolley problem’, as well as, big environmental questions regarding plastic use and deforestation. The group continues to display an impressive level of respect and maturity during discussions, even when their opinions differ hugely! Debate Club continues to run in room 14 on Thursdays from 2:45pm - 3:30pm and is open for anyone to join! Spelling Bee On Thursday 6th July, Regents Park hosted the inaugural Southampton City-Wide Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee was attended by local schools including: Year 7 and 8 contestants from Regents Park, Upper Shirley High School, Redbridge, Bitterne Park, St. Marks and St. George’s Catholic School. All students wowed the judged and the level of competition was exceptionally high! A massive well done to our Regents Park spellers who achieved 2nd and 4th place overall. 2nd Place: Adam, Year 7 4th Place: Alhameen, Year 8
Editor of Telegraph Travel Visits RPCC Rachel Cranshaw, ex student and Senior Commissioning Editor for Telegraph Travel, visited us today to give our students some insight into a career in journalism. They had a Q + A with her and did a creative travel guide challenge! Rachel is an ex-student at Regents Park, so it was wonderful to have her back to share her journey with current students and invite them to consider a potential future career pathway!
