Regents Review - Summer 2021
The Regents Review Summer 2021
GENERAL NEWS
Year 11 Over the last term we have said goodbye to our lovely Year 11s. It was a really emotional day on the last day when we said our goodbyes, hosted a virtual leavers assembly and polished off lots of pizza. It was not the last day anyone wanted, but in true Year 11 style, they had a great day and showed the resilience they have built up throughout their time at Regents Park. We also hosted our Hollywood leaver events in school at the beginning of June. We had two amazing nights celebrating their time at Regents Park. Students made the most of it and really enjoyed the experience. A huge shout out to all the staff involved in planning, picking up items, decorating and supporting the night. The biggest shout out of all has to go to my amazing ‘Prom Committee’, who planned the event and helped set up and put away equipment both days. A huge thank you to Eleanor, Ashleigh, Sophie, George and Josh who made the nights a huge success. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has worked with me on supporting the year group over the last 4 years. They truly are an amazing bunch of students and I know they will all succeed in whatever they would like to do in the
future. I look forward to seeing their successes and have already claimed my 10% on any royalties! Thank you so much for all your support over the years, it really has been a pleasure and the students
will certainly be missed. Best of luck in the future. Mr Gates Head of Year 11
PSHE & Careers
Year 8 PSHE day This half term, Year 8 took part in their postponed PSHE day from back in March time. This was a really effective and engaging day covering a range of different topics including mental health, prevent & online safety, dangerous relationships, college/jobs, alcohol & smoking and money management (spending & prioritising). It was really interesting to see their views on jobs and colleges and to start them investigating the possibilities of where their GCSE choices, that they start next year, may take them.
Year 10 PSHE Day At the start of the term, back in April, Year 10 had the opportunity to cover a range of topics as part of their PSHE day. These topics were delivered by our own staff and external providers Yellow Door, Solent Mind & myBnk. The sessions covered mental health, sexual abuse, college research, money management (payslips & taxes) and drugs & alcohol.
