DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Shakespeare in Year 8: We love teaching Shakespeare (okay, we may be slightly biased). When you have incredibly talented Year 8 students producing gorgeous Othello work like this, who wouldn’t love teaching the bard’s famous works?!

Year 10 Exams With the rise in COVID-19 cases in Southampton, the decision was made to cancel the in-hall Year 10 mock exams and sit them in class instead. This change in situation could have thrown our students, but they #bouncedback and have demonstrated such resilience. It is very clear that they know how important this exam is. We see how hard you are working Year 10! Media - Year 9 Magazines Our GCSE Media Studies students in Year 9 had their first go at some practice NEA (coursework). Here are some fabulous examples of the magazine cover and contents pages they made!

James Bond Year 9 media studies students have also embarked upon their official GCSE course with the introduction of their James Bond unit. We compare ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’ to ‘Spectre’ and apply lots of complicated theories to the products! They have risen to the challenge wonderfully and are demonstrating they can handle the manipulative world of the media!
