The Regents Review Summer 2018

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS Creative Arts Folk Active Workshop On Friday 18th May we had a visit from Folk Active. They provided a folk dance workshop with Year 9 & 10 linked to the play War Horse, and the group got to see the play on Thursday 7th June. They were introduced to traditional folk music of the early 1900’s and they rehearsed and performed some group dances.

Design Technology

Year 7s have been researching masks from around the world and used them to inspire their latest work in textiles. Students have created a pressa print onto fabric and then gone onto embellish the prints with various textile techniques such as sewing machine stitching, embroidery stitches, buttons and beads. They have worked hard showing lots of resilience and determination learning new techniques.
