Year 11 Year 11 have worked tirelessly over the spring and summer term to put themselves in the best possible position for their GCSE exams. Their attendance has remained good throughout the year and their work ethic has improved a great deal. They have shown a real sign of their desire to do well, that so many students have been coming in school to do before and after school clubs and revision sessions. Now that the exam season has finished it gives me a little time to look back and reflect on the last year. This cohort has been on an eventful journey with the school. They have experienced the uncertainty and heartache of going into special measures and the thrill of being judged ‘Good’ such a short time later. They have had changes to their Head of Year and yet they have stuck together and made it to the end. Staff have shared some fantastic times with them at Thorpe Park, numerous other visits and events such as Rock Challenge. Throughout their time they have remained focused on the end goal, their exams and their further education.

They are a fantastic and talented group of young people and I am proud to have been their Head of Year. I was overwhelmed by their contributions at the leavers’ assembly and I’m sure many of them will be hugely successful in their careers. I wish them all the best for their futures.

I shall miss you all!

Mr Holloway Head of Year 11
