The Regents Review Spring 2025

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

in confidence and resilience when faced with some tough opponents. The students have always upheld the values and ethos of RPCC, to which we are proud of, well done to all involved! Year 7 Football The Year 7 boys football team have almost completed this season’s fixtures. Although the results may have not gone the way that we would have wanted, it is safe to say that the team has made massive progress in a short space of time. For a large number of the students, this has been their first experience of football and being part of a team. Everyone that has been involved, has always put their all into the games and working hard as a team. The football that the team is playing, is based around trusting each other and working together, which is moving forward and building every game. The PE teachers are excited to continue this development and hope that there will be success in future years, with the effort and commitment that the students have displayed this year. Year 8 Football The team have shown excellent application throughout this season’s campaign. They have played some excellent football at times, which has resulted in them finishing mid table. Well done to all the boys who have represented the team! Year 9 Boys Football The team have had a brilliant 2025 season. They are currently third in the league and every game they have played in, has been extremely competitive, with only one or two goals between the teams! The boys have shown fantastic resilience, determination and commitment. The team have gone from strength to strength, with their style of play and have produced some very competent displays. A massive well done to all the students involved.

Summer Term We’re looking forward to a very busy summer term in the PE department. Our amazing students will be taking part in the Southampton Swimming Gala, rounders league, sports awards evening, sports week and lots of extra-curricular clubs. Please can we remind students that they should be wearing Regents Park PE kit for practical core, sports leaders and BTEC sport lessons. Please can you ensure students are not wearing hooded jumpers, as this can cause harm to themselves and other students. They are permitted to wear the RPCC PE jumper or plain blue/black jumper, that does not have a hood. If a student is unable to take part in PE, please ensure they have a note and their PE kit (they won’t take part practically, but will engage in other roles throughout their lesson). If a student is unable to change, please get in touch with their PE teacher. Please check your child’s timetable and our uniform policy on the website to ensure they are adhering to school rules. Many thanks for your support.
