The Regents Review Spring 2023

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

If you think the National Teen Book Club might be for you, or you would like to find out more, please drop in to see Mrs Moth in room 10 for more information.

We loved seeing those students that joined us for our March sessions reading, “Good for Nothing” by Mariam Ansar.

Debate Club This term in Debate Club, the students have discussed the contraversial views and language of Andrew Tate, whether falling in love is bad for us and how we could improve the prison system - among many other questions! As always, they have been mature and respectful

when tackling some tricky topics! All welcome – please feel free to join us on Thursdays. (Room 14, 2:40pm - 3:30pm)

Regents Park Celebrates World Book Day! World Book Day 2023 was celebrated on Friday 3rd March at Regents Park. This year, students celebrated all things reading, with a cornucopia of World Book Day activities, including creating ‘What do you need to know about me as a reader’ post cards and ‘My Book Maps’ in tutor time. Students also received digital World Book Day ‘coupons’ this year! Students enjoyed World Book Day themed lessons, as well as this year’s ‘Story in Six Parts’ being read by teachers from across the school. This year we chose a grisly and gruesome tale by Roald Dahl that fitted beautifully with our theme of heroes and villains. Mrs Highmore, our Librarian,

planned a day of World Book Day fun too. Staff dressed up for the day, so students had fun guessing which literary hero or villain they came as!
