The Regents Review Spring 2024

Languages DEPARTMENTAL NEWS RPCC in Paris!

The MFL department embarked on our first abroad trip since the pandemic at the end of January - to take our French students to the wonderful city of Paris! Both staff and students had a great time enjoying the view from the Montparnasse tower, exploring Disneyland Paris and even trying the French delicacy - snails! Umberto’s Paris Trip Diary Day 1 : We arrived early in the morning, greeted our coach driver and took our seats. I sat near my friends and we soon fall asleep! We arrived at Dover and went through the border. They check our passports and we boarded the ferry across the English Channel. We arrived in Calais, and drove for hours and hours. We arrived late at our hotel - sorted our rooms, had our first dinner and then went to bed for an early night! Day 2: On day 2, we went to Paris to visit the sky high Tour Montparnasse (the tallest building in France), which towers over the Eiffel Tower! We also ate our sandwiches on a cruise down the River Seine. We then travelled back to the hotel, playing quizzes on the way. Afterwards, we had free time on site, where we made crepes - some didn’t look that great! Day 3: We were excited, as we were able to go to Disneyland Paris. I think the teachers were even more excited than us! We spent the day going on all of the rides - my favourite was Tower of Terror! It was a thrilling experience and I would definitely do it again. We finished our day watching the amazing Disney parade. We then headed back to the hotel, where they had thrown us an epic disco with lights and music! The disco ended and we all go to sleep. Day 4: We awoke early, stripped our beds, tidied our rooms and packed our luggage. We were all very sad to leave! We enjoyed a last breakfast and started the long drive home!
