DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

University of Oxford Flash Fiction Competition Mrs Northfield’s 10Y1 class were given the challenge to write a 100 story in Spanish. Firstly they studied the tale of “The Castle of No Return” in Spanish and were then tasked with writing their own! As always, Year 10 were full of creative ideas - including a mechanical goose and multiple murder mysteries. After their planning session, they then composed their stories and uploaded them to the University of Oxford flash fiction competition - buena suerte to all of our entries! We will keep you updated with any winners!

Year 11s Our Year 11 linguists will soon be embarking on their final GCSE examinations! The French and Spanish speaking exams will take place on the 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th May. If you have any further questions about these exams, please ask your language teacher.

MFL Department Welcomes...

After the Easter break, we welcome two new members to our team - firstly Mrs Cholakova who will be assisting in Spanish classrooms and helping our students become more confident with their speaking. Secondly Mrs Okoroafor, who joins us as a French teacher. We’re very excited to be working with you! We also say welcome back to Mrs Mouland who returns to us after her maternity leave.

Boulogne We were very disappointed to have to cancel our annual day trip to Boulogne for Year 7 students, however we hope that we will be able run the trip again in July 2023 - we will keep you updated!
