Regents Review - Spring 2021

The Regents Review Spring 2021

GENERAL NEWS

Year 7 I am really pleased with how resilient Year 7 have been in their first two terms at Regents Park. When we put recent circumstances into context: Year 6 affected due to the first lockdown - resulting in lost education. Starting a new school without the normal transition package in place and to experience yet another lockdown straight after their first term at Regents Park and to return to school in the manner they have is just amazing. #GreenAndProud! Thank you to all those who accessed online lessons, students took to this style of learning really well. I must admit I found it strange teaching classes through my laptop, and I much prefer teaching in school, as do most of the students, learning. Let’s hope we do not have any more national lockdowns!

supporting wholeheartedly with everything we try to do. I am really proud to be part of this amazing Year 8 team. As part of our evaluation of Year 8s virtual learning we asked teachers for their ‘Lockdown Legends’ and here are the results - I’m really proud of the effort made by so many Year 8s:

Wow! What a term. Year 8 continue to make us proud with every lesson (and lockdown). I am so impressed by Year 8s continued resilience towards their learning and ever improving ability to switch between online and in school classes. Whilst we were in lockdown for half a term, Year 8 have continued to be very busy. We have had weekly College Council sessions, which now include shout outs to staff for their continued hard work, we have had a parents evening, options event and even chosen all our options from home. As we now settle back into the new way of working in school, I trust in Year 8 that they will continue to look forward and push themselves to be the best possible versions of themselves. We have continued to have high expectations of Year 8 students and I thank you as parents/carers for your continued support in engaging students online and
