DEPARTMENTAL NEWS Languages

Welcome to Miss Appadoo!

MFL Goes Online! Although the MFL team were at first quite nervous to move lessons online, by the end of January we were flying! Students enjoyed using existing resources such as LanguageNut and Google Classroom, however the most fun was definitely had on Blooket! We are now looking forward to seeing how we can incorporate this into the ‘normal’ classroom. A reminder that students are still able to access LanguageNut at home and on their mobile phones. Year 7 Positivity Potion Year 7 students enjoyed their first lesson back, firstly looking at the ingredients of this ‘Positivity Potion’ and then creating their own!

After February half-term, we had the great pleasure of introducing Miss Appadoo to our students! Miss Appadoo is a Teach First Academic Mentor who will be supporting our students with their language learning. We are extremely lucky to have her join our department and I know students are very excited to start having intervention sessions!

Los Animales

During Year 7s study of ‘Los Animales’, they were tasked with creating their own lost poster for an exotic animal. Miss Kingswell was certainly much happier to be using Google Images instead of trying to draw on the whiteboard!
