Rewards in Maths During lockdown, the Regents Park maths department revamped the rewards process. Students (and their parents) received certificates for participation, effort, homework, and progress. These certificates are delivered through Google Classroom – so students need to keep a watchful eye on their stream. Upon receiving a certificate, students are added to a random name generator – “The Wheel of Names”. The Wheel of Names is spun to reveal 3 lucky students who win vouchers. The more certificates a student has, the better chance they have of winning. So far we have had 3 winners. But there are plenty more to come! Good Luck! Science
Firstly, the science team would like to welcome everyone back to the department, it has been brilliant to see all of Regents Park’s young people back in the science labs. The team is now looking forward to getting back to normal and teaching some lessons that don’t involve a Google Meets code! Staff and students alike would like to thank the London Mathematical Society for their very generous and kind grant which the science department were awarded. We used the funds to purchase some new scientific calculators.

The 11th February was the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. To celebrate this important event the best we could in lockdown, we shared from our Twitter account, some of the contributions made by women in science. Sadly,
Here at Regents Park, we also supported the World Wildlife Foundation’s (WWF) world nature day. The aim is to raise awareness of the impact human activities are having on ecosystems around the world. This year, the charity invited companies and sport clubs to remove the nature from the logos or emblems. So just like, Dove, PG Tips, Wolves FC and West Brom United - to name a few, we removed the nature from our school logo, by taking out our trees. We think you’ll all agree that our
