Regents Review - Autumn 2024

The Regents Review Autumn 2024

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Digital Leaders Our digital leaders have completed their training and were awarded certificates and badges. We have welcomed more students to this scheme to highlight the importance of online safety. They also completed their first assembly to all year groups on ‘fake news’, as this has been the hot topic since the summer. They were also invited to hot chocolate with the Headteacher, Mrs Barnes, to thank them for their efforts.

Social Sciences Year 7 As we move into the last week of the autumn term, it has been a pleasure to think back and reflect on all the wonderful achievements of our students, since we returned in September. Year 7 have started their studies in history and geography with great enthusiasm and pride. We have had some outstanding pieces of home learning, as well as some amazing dedication to challenge in lessons. 7GZ recently embraced the ‘Challenge-O Metre’ and were pleased with the level of challenge in class.

Harvey in Year 7 has really enjoyed his ‘Space Missions’ and has successfully gained 3 stickers on his card from history lessons alone! The first week of September saw staff and students embracing WOW lessons which this year, involved balloons, bunting and skittles! Amazing innovation from the social sciences team!

Armistice As we moved into November, the history team, again, had the privilege of delivering the armistice assemblies – always a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made. Students were very respectful in these assemblies and were humbled by the age of some of the young men who died for our freedom.
