Year 7 Art This term’s project theme for Year 7 art is flora and fauna. The Year 7s started the term by learning about tone and how to apply this in different contexts, completing a beetle grid drawing to demonstrate their skill. They have also been learning about Louis Renard and his book, ‘Fantastical Fish - Fishes, Crayfishes, and Crabs’. Using watercolour and pencil, the students have been drawing their own ‘fantastical’ fish.

Year 8 Art Year 8 have been exploring the weird and wonderful world of Yayoi Kusama and her obsession for patterns and mark making. Looking at the fundamentals of art and design, students have been obliterating Yayoi Kusama sunflowers with dots, bricks and nets in bright colour. They have also looked at Robert and Sonia Delaunay’s circle paintings for developing their understanding of colour theory.
