The Regents Review Winter 2020

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS Humanities RE During innovative teaching week, religious education students explored a range of beliefs and traditions from other cultures. Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) activities encouraged students to reflect on how we consider the subject of death in a light-hearted and artistic way. Through sand-painting activities, students explored ideas of mindfulness and the infinite nature of reality in Buddhist philosophy and practices. The students really embraced a fresh approach to learning about these complex ideas in a way that felt personal and relatable to them.

History & Geography This term has been a strange one for many reasons, but that has not stopped the students in humanities from excelling in class and with their homework! Year 7 have embraced the topics in history and have created some amazing homework! As part of their pick and mix tasks, they have selected a baking task and produced some excellent tudor desserts! In geography we have had some fantastic efforts with the tourism topic. We have been very pleased and proud of Year 11, as they completed their mock exams - some real maturity and commitment shown by them as they completed these exams. We have been so pleased with the attitude and effort of all the humanities students throughout this autumn Term.
