Firstly, I would like to say a massive thank you to Year 9, who have so far made the transition process for both myself and Mrs Cooper a smooth one. I would like to take this opportunity to say how excited I am to get to know you all better as a year group and help to guide you through your first year of your GCSEs. First of all, well done to all of Year 9 for completing the first term of their GCSE’s, I am very proud of the maturity pupils have shown towards their work. As you may be aware Miss Grassie has taken over the role as Head of Year 9. I would like to give you some context as to why. I have been teaching for 10 years now and I have worked in a pastoral role as a Head of Year for over 6 years and although I have found it thoroughly rewarding, especially supporting my year group since they joined Regents Park, recently my personal circumstances have changed significantly and as a result I need to spend more time focusing on those. I will be remaining as a member of staff at Regents Park and I am excited to spend more time focusing on my teaching and contributing to making science an outstanding department.
