DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Year 7 Marwell Zoo On 2nd October, 61 Year 7 students visited Marwell Zoo. The purpose of the trip was to investigate the conservation efforts of Marwell. During the day the students got to meet Colin the cockroach and hear him hiss as well as see the impacts of poachers on our wild species. The afternoon was then spent exploring Marwell Zoo and visiting the animals. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Geography Year 10 Lulworth Cove On 20th September, 25 Year 10 students visited Lulworth Cove in order to answer the question “Is Lulworth Cove a high energy or low energy coastline?” During the day the students had to complete a field sketch, wave count and pebble survey whilst battling strong winds! Despite the wind, the students had a fantastic day looking at the amazing scenery and completing work that goes towards their GCSE geography grade.

A big well done to Iman Chentoufi in Year 7 who was the winning entrant in the design a poppy competition for the centenary celebrations.
