The Regents Review Winter 2016

GENERAL NEWS

Trant Visit

On Friday 30th September, Regents Park’s geography students were presented with 40 new Collins atlases by Brendan Down and Nikki Pullen from Trant Engineering, a local company based at Rushington, in Totton. Trant works in the field of civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering, both in the UK and around the world. They were delighted to be able to link up with Regents Park Community College on this project to help our students learn about the world with

a current, colourful and stimulating resource.

Students will make use of the new atlases in future geography lessons, when learning about population in China, the features of Antarctica or comparing development statistics for countries around the world.

Rich Cottell Review

On Thursday 13th October, Youtuber and musician Rich Cottell came to Regents Park to visit Years 7, 8 and 9. He spoke to them about Internet Safety in a way that the audience would understand. He also played some music and encouraged the audience to participate and sing along. He talked about some of the things that can happen on social media and online gaming and how to prevent any of those situations when online. Overall, the visit was a positive experience for the majority of Key Stage 3 and one that was sure to brighten up anyone’s day.
