The Regents Review Summer 2025

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

STEM Virtual Reality Careers Day We were thrilled to announce our event for Year 8, the STEM Careers in Action: A Virtual Insight VR Workshop! This was a unique opportunity, that allowed students to explore various STEM careers, through immersive virtual reality experiences. Students gained a first-hand look at high-tech environments, including a Tesla factory, a NASA launch, an Airbus assembly line, the mining industry and surgical training. KS3 Science Club This term, Science Club has been bubbling with excitement - literally! We kicked things off by concocting and testing our very own bubble solutions, attempting to discover the perfect recipe for the biggest, bounciest bubbles. Next, we dove into the sweet science of sugar. We compared diet vs. regular Coke in a fizzy showdown, unleashed the explosive energy of the infamous screaming jelly baby (RIP, little guy) and whipped up some deliciously scientific honeycomb - yum! But it wasn’t all sugar and sparkles - we also put our engineering hats on to design and build marble runs, testing gravity, momentum and our patience! From sticky experiments to sugary explosions, science club has been a blast. We can’t wait to see what we’ll discover next!

Cells Inflatable Explorer Dome Day Year 7 embarked on an unforgettable adventure inside an inflatable dome, exploring the fascinating world of cells! They delved into the complexity of cellular structures, from the simple to the intricate, including everything from dog vomit mould to complex neurones. The excitement in the air was palpable, as all year groups behaved impeccably and created lasting memories on this fantastic day!

Looking Ahead As we celebrate the academic successes of our students this year, we look forward to building on this momentum in September. Thank you for your continued support, and we wish everyone a restful and enjoyable summer break!
