Year 11 have completed their film studies exams and are feeling very positive about how they went. Good luck to you all! Year 10 have now watched all of the set films that they need in order to sit their exams. Next year will involve lots of revision and lots of practising responses to exam questions. Don’t forget - the mock exam for component 1 is in November. Year 10 have also completed their coursework! Yippee! Lots of hard work and hours of typing have presented us with a screenplay for each student, a shooting script and an evaluation that references influential films. It was a long process, but a worthwhile one. We are excited to welcome the next batch of Film Studies students into Year 10! Any Year 9 student that has chosen film studies for one of their options next year, have a watch of as many of these as you can over the break – parental discretion required regarding age certification: • Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom • Hugo • La La Land • Sound of Metal • Maestro • Night Crawler • Critters • Gremlins

For Year 10, it’s no surprise, but my suggestion is to watch your set films again! These are all on Google Classroom and some can be accessed on streaming platforms. You can also watch the above satellite films to enrich your knowledge of directors and cultures.
