Regents Review - Summer 2023
The Regents Review Summer 2023
GENERAL NEWS Year 9
As we face the final weeks of the term, I find myself reflecting over the first three years wondering how quickly this time has gone, to think this cohort have less than two years left at Regents Park. I am also aware that this cohort had a very disruptive start to their time at Regents Park, due to COVID-19, given that, I am very proud of the progress students are making. When we return from summer break, I will be expecting students to push on and focus deeper into their studies to ensure each student
makes or exceeds their own progress targets. I am very pleased that 56 different students have been recognised in the top group of students on a weekly basis and been rewarded in assemblies. Well done to: Kingsley, Mae, Izzy, Joseph, Kiera, Leo, Lily, Sophie, Eleftheria, Izzy, Jessica, Sophie, Wiktor, Alana, Alana, Andrei, Camsy, Hikmet, Rayyan, Sayema, Amelia, Bryony, Emma, Joanna, Natalie, Omar, Vincent, Jack, Julija, Priya, Savannah,
Aleksandra, Ema, Olivia, Rose, Gayathri, Luca, Umar, Daisy, Jelan, Joshua, Litiana, Tolu, Eliza, Riley & Cherice. I would like to wish all Year 9 students and parents a lovely summer holiday. We all very much look forward to welcoming Year 10 students in September in full Regents Park uniform ready to learn. Mr Sinclair Head of Year 9
Year 10
As we finish Year 10 and our final full year as a team, it’s terrifying and super exciting to know that next year our wonderful team will be saying their goodbyes and moving onto their new colleges. It’s incredible to reflect upon their time at Regents Park and this year. We’ve still managed to pack in a lot of events in Year 10: work experience, mocks, real exams (chemistry and hospitality and catering), the Germany trip and we have started our revision focus days to support next years’ exams. I’m so proud of the achievements Year 10 have made this year, with 40,327 achievement points and we have reduced low level behaviour across the year group by 75%. Thank you to all the parents for their support with this. We have a wonderful Student Senior Leadership team for next year and they are already planning for next year to support new students in Year 7 and looking at new ways to improve the school. Year 10 were incredible throughout their mocks, with staff saying how wonderful they were entering the hall, how mature they were and how ready they were for their exams.
Students have taught some of their lessons as part of the Innovative Teaching Week this year and College Council continues to grow and develop, with so much positivity. Some great feedback of the year from students: “Chemistry revision was good on Friday afternoons.” “The science trip was AMAZING.” “We enjoyed our prefect meeting to discuss our plan - we all know our expectations.” “PE is good, added in ambassador jobs.” “I’m looking forward to moving into Year 11” “We had a great time at Regents Got Talent.” “English is so helpful - pure revision and this is really helping us.” I would like to congratulate the following students: 100% attendance for the whole year: Benjamin Charan Dylan
