Regents Review Spring Edition 2023

The Regents Review Spring 2023

GENERAL NEWS

Library I cannot express enough how impressed I am at the progress of our Year 7 cohort with Accelerated Reader this year. When the winter edition of the Regents Review was published, Year 7 students had read a total of 2,704,959 words. This has now increased to a massive 15,160,166 words read in total. I wonder if we can finish the year at 20 million words read? A big well done to Miss Robinson’s 7BW class, who are still topping the leaderboard, with an intimidating 4-million-word lead. There is still time to topple them though! Rank Class Words Read 1 7BW 6,106,546 words 2 7BZ 2,499,618 words 3 7GZ 2,130,558 words 4 7BX 1,721,859 words 5 7GX 1,263,568 words 6 7BY 1,173,201 words 7 7GY 264,816 words However, in terms of progress to their reading ages, Mr Lucas’ class is top of the leaderboard, having increased their age by 10 whole months on average when tested in January. I’m looking forward to seeing which class will improve the most when tested in April! The first round of challenge ethos badges were recorded just before the Christmas break for the top 6 students in each class. Well done
