The Regents Review Spring 2023

GENERAL NEWS

Year 7

Year 8 We are now two thirds of the way through Year 8 and I’m sure you will all agree that this year has gone extremely quickly. It has been excellent to see students now concentrating on developing their work to show further progress in the build up to Year 9, where students will start to think about GCSE options. It has been a busy term for Year 8, with sporting fixtures and tournaments and an extremely successful Dance Live competition. Year 8 students have been fantastic through all of these events It is incredible that we are now two thirds of the way through Year 7 and as a school we are already looking at our list for the new cohort joining in September. It feels like yesterday that Mrs Blakely and I were looking at the list with all your names, eager to meet you and get you started on your Regents Park journey. Since joining us, you have all achieved so much: you’ve made new friends, settled into a bigger learning environment and grown up so much. I’d like to say a massive thank you and well done to those students that have been involved in extra activities, such as Dance Live, sports fixtures and the school production. It’s wonderful to see students shining, whilst putting themselves outside of their comfort zone. Up to the end of February, 166 ethos badges have been awarded to students. Congratulations to Millie-Lou and Jacob, who have already achieved 6 each! As well as ethos badges, it’s important to celebrate the success of our students who have attained a high number of achievement points. Mrs Mouland Head of Year 7

and have been a massive credit to themselves by showing focus, maturity and success across all areas. There are several fantastic opportunities available to students at Regents Park and I urge all students to participate in as many of these opportunities as they can. I have great pride in overseeing the development of Year 8 and look forward to carrying on sharing the successes with Year 8 students in to everyone’s favourite term, the summer term. I would like to celebrate the following who are currently, at the time of writing, at the top of our overall and half termly conduct leagues.
