Go Lead Programme

This year, Miss Robinson has also implemented the Go Lead Programme, sponsored by Barclays Game On. This will provide the 12 selected students across Year 8 to 10, with the empowerment to design, create and deliver football activities to their peers, to engage new and different girls in football. It will also support girls to become activators, to understand what Languages Year 8 Spanish

leadership is, and to articulate and apply the skills they have developed into a whole-school initiative. We are excited to see what is to come from these students.

KS4 MFL The AQA GCSE Course for MFL consists of 3 themes. Theme 1 has a subtopic of ‘customs and festivals’, so we regularly make reference to traditions of the French-speaking and Spanish speaking world. This half term we looked at Carnaval with Spanish groups and La Chandeleur (Candlemas).

Year 8 Spanish students have been learning about food. They created their own menus. Here are some examples.

Using idioms in your written/spoken work makes you sound more sophisticated!

Il pleut des cordes = It’s raining ropes, i.e it’s raining a lot

We use LanguageNut for homework and when in an ICT suite. Every student studying a language has a username and password.
