DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Year 10 Business Studies The Year 10 students are progressing well overall. Several students, in particular, have shown great effort and commitment to their studies. We are currently reviewing assessments in class, where students compare their answers with the exam mark schemes. This process helps them better understand the assessment objectives and how marks are awarded in exams. A special mention goes to Ethan, Yonis, Zuzia, Chloe, Ruby, Ayushman, Dominik, Tommy, Hastyjot and Barboucarr. These students have been working very hard and have demonstrated strong dedication in working well in the subject.

Year 10 Enterprise and Marketing

Students are in the closing stages of completing their first controlled assessment covering designing a new product (Best

Burger). These will be sent off this summer to the exam board. Afterwards, we will be looking at exam skills in preparation for mocks and making a start on their next assessment, which will involve pitching for their new ice-cream. Special mention to Kamalpreet for her fantastic efforts to improve her coursework to get the top grade.

Physical Education

As always, this term has been extremely busy in the PE department. Thank you to all the staff and students who have given up their time to provide opportunities for sporting and personal growth.

PE Champion & This Girl Can Charity Event The PE Champions and This Girl Can Ambassadors have been hard at work raising money for their chosen charities. They have been collecting sponsorship recently and will complete a gym triathlon on 11th March 2026. The three charities our students have chosen to raise money for this year are: Alfie’s Wish, Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Alzheimer’s Society. As I’m sure you’ll all agree, these are incredible charities who do amazing work.

The money raised will be split between the charities and we also hope to raise more money through our charity raffle at the Sports Awards. Raffle tickets will be available soon and there will be some incredible prizes on offer.
