DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Year 9 Art In Art, the Year 9s are learning about how landmarks and culture architecture is significant to an individual or communities’ identity. Students have been focusing on looking at Giacomo Costa’s digitally manipulated photography and creating their own collages from landmarks all round the world.

Year 11 GCSE Fine Art Year 11 students are nearing the end of their GCSE course, with their practical exam on the horizon. Miss Brookes, Miss Holloway and the whole department are extremely pleased with the students’ dedication during the exam period and the impressive work they are producing.

Year 10 Fine Art GCSE Fine Art students have been working hard on their new movement of cubism, exploring the analytical and synthetic world of Juan Gris, Pablo Picasso and George Braque. Students are working incredibly hard to create the best outcomes for their GCSE coursework.

Year 10 3D Design

Year 11 3D Design

Students in Year 10 3D Design are coming to the end of their project of natural forms. Creating beautiful pieces both two and three dimensional. Students have been working hard both inside and outside the lessons to complete a digital portfolio of their research and creating beautiful responses to artists such as Cezanne, Mercer-Vernon and Kusama.

Students in Year 11 are coming to the end of their GCSE with their practical exam looming. Miss Brookes, Miss Holloway and the entire department are very pleased with their commitment to the exam period and the outcomes being created.
