DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Year 8 Photography Students have been learning how to use a DSLR camera, such as, learning how to use auto focus, lens and shutter control. Students have also been learning about the seven elements of photography. Students have looked at different photographers such as Stephanie Jung and Ian Rankin. The students have done artist studies on these photographers and have then tried to replicate their work through the own photographs and edits. Students have also had an introduction to Photoshop, where they have learnt different editing techniques such as multiple exposure.

Year 9 Photography Students have been learning how to use a DSLR camera, such as, learning how to use auto focus, lens and shutter control. Students have looked at different photographers such as Diane Arbus and Hattie Stewart. The students have done artist studies on these photographers and have then tried to replicate their work through their own photographs and edits. Students have then had an introduction to Photoshop where they have learnt different editing techniques such as colour select and illustration. To conclude their photography rotation, students created a final piece for homework, where they had to take photographs using the techniques they have learnt during their lessons.

then took their photographs so that they could edit them in Photoshop to create their final pieces. They have looked at different Photoshop effects such as multiple exposure.
