number of good team tries. With some coaching between games the girls began to play a touch to tackle game in the afternoon. The girls enjoyed the physical side of the game, but playing against some Year 8s made tackling

Year 7 & 8 Girls Rugby Festival It was a fantastic experience to take a group of girls from Year 7 to play rugby at Winchester Rugby Club. Many of the girls had never played rugby before and it was wonderful to give these students their first opportunity to play. The girls began the day playing touch rugby, learning about creating space whilst passing the ball backwards. The girls quickly grasped the concept and as a result scored a

quite a challenge. All the girls had a fantastic day and I would encourage them to consider joining a rugby club. “I had one of the best

days; I got to have fun with my friends and play a really cool game. Mr Sinclair was really nice when I did things wrong and I really liked it. It was the BEST!” Rosie Pybus - Year 7 “I had fun, great day

playing rugby. I have learnt how to play and met some great teams. It was a fun and amazing day.” Sarah Rek - Year 7 Year 8 Boys Rugby Festival Year 8s attended a rugby festival at Southampton Rugby where they competed against a number of schools in Hampshire. All students were a credit to the Regents Park displaying many of rugby’s core values of: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, disciple and sportsmanship. For some students this was the first time they had played, let alone in a competitive situation. Unfortunately we lost all our morning games which meant we were at the bottom of our group. The groups were rearranged in the afternoon and we played the teams from the bottom of other groups. The games in the afternoon were much more competitive and enjoyable. We played some fantastic rugby with some ferocious defending at times. The students had a fantastic time and learnt a lot too. Well done Year 8.
