DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Photography As a Photography group we have entered the National Photography competition with FSE design. The competition is open nationally to all schools and consists of three categories, junior, secondary and further education. Our category was ‘Our Changing World’. We had

many entries of a very high level and we look forward to finding out the results after Easter.

Best of luck to all who entered.

Rotary Technology Challenge

to solve the issue, creating different solutions. It was a tough competition with over 8 different schools represented, regrettably 2 other schools came top in our category. We will be looking to return next year with the aim of securing one of the top spots. Team A: Lily Hayward, Zahara Brandao, Lunlana Jones Team B: Ridley Cooper, Mya Bodycote, Daniel Sharp

At the beginning of March it was a privilege to take a group of my students, who have been attending the design technology club after school on Fridays, off site for a competition. The Rotary Club of Southampton and Romsey run an annual event which presents students with the task of creating a physical product to solve a problem. This year the challenge was to create a crane that could be moved and controlled from a distance to recover a metal object from a “crashed tanker”. Our teams performed well and showed good determination

X Factor Auditions start to find the 10 finalists after Easter half term.

Please see Mr Barron for details.
