The Regents Review Autumn 2023

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

This Girl Can week, where they will be running lessons focused on inclusivity and disability sport. Congratulations to you all!

The team have also been supporting after school clubs and lunch time activities. Please see this page for our clubs & classes: https://www. regentsparkcollege.org.uk/home/parents/clubs-and classes/ . It’s been great to see so many students attending the clubs and watching our leaders flourish. These will change throughout the year depending on student voice feedback. RPCC have been fortunate enough to have a player visit from Southampton FC. It’s always a pleasure to see our students engaging with positive role models and have the opportunities to share their experience. We are really hopeful of having more visitors in the near future, who will inspire our students to see what’s possible with hard work and determination!

SEF Presentation This term our inspirational This Girl Ambassadors / Go Lead Activators (Alana, Sophie, Savannah, Daisha and Andriana) have showcased their incredible contributions through developing girls sport at Regents Park over the last two and a half years, by presenting to over 30 Headteachers at the Southampton SEF meeting at Solent University. As highlighted from one of the girls themselves: “Today was so amazing. It was an eye-opening experience, because we did something we’ve never done before and made a difference. I’m so proud and happy for all of the other girls and am so honoured to represent the This Girl Can Ambassadors at this event.” Miss Robinson is extremely proud of what the ambassadors are showcasing and the difference they are making.

Please can we remind students that they should be wearing Regents Park PE kit for practical core, sports leaders and BTEC sport lessons. Please can you ensure students are not wearing hooded jumpers, as this can cause harm to themselves and other students. They are permitted to wear the RPCC PE jumper or a plain blue or black jumper that doesn’t have a hood. If a student is unable to take part in PE, please ensure they have a note and their PE kit (they won’t take part practically but will engage in other roles throughout their lesson). If a student is unable to change, please get in touch with their PE teacher. Please check your child’s timetable and our uniform policy on the website to ensure they are adhering to school rules. Many thanks for your support. The PE team wish you a restful and safe Christmas. We are really looking forward to welcoming you back in January.
