Year 8 Geography Year 8s have been learning about natural hazards this term where we have used lots of memory games and students drawing destructive plate margins using colour on their desks as a refresher activity. We created our own paper models of earthquakes so that we could experience the movements the earthquakes make and what effect it could have on buildings. This Girl Can Ambassadors & PE Champions

The start of the 2023-2024 academic year has been extremely busy for the PE department. Across the year groups, we have competed in 7 football leagues and everyone who has represented the school has been brilliant. One of our girls’ teams also got to play at the Saints training ground in a tournament hosted by Southampton FC Community Champions. All teams have shown fantastic determination, resilience and pride in competing for their school. We have now concluded the first half of the season, which will recommence after February half term. All teams have come up against some very strong opposition in their respective fixtures, but a special mention to the Year 7 boys are currently second in the table.

This term, Miss Robinson and Mr Makepeace have worked together with the PE Champions and This Girl Can Ambassadors, in order to develop ideas and initiatives to promote our PE progress strands and ethos of Regents Park. Students have picked the two charities for this year: McMillan and Abby’s Heroes, following the impact these charities have already had on staff and students at Regents Park. We look forward to hosting these charity events over the year, alongside many other exciting events. One of which will be our annual PE Champion/
