The Regents Review Autumn 2023

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Year 8 Graphics Some Year 8 students have just completed a rotation of graphics. During this project, they have developed their skills as a graphic designer. They created a range of logo designs for film and developed these skills into poster designs for billboards. This has enabled them to build upon the skills they learned in Year 7 relating to typography. Students have also had the opportunity to learn various colouring techniques to enhance their work. We are especially proud of the film logo designs and the ‘Up’ posters.

Year 7 Graphics Some Year 7 students have just completed a rotation in graphics, where they have learned about typography. Students have created a range of letter designs based on their own interests. They have learned about illuminated letters and developed these into 3D designs, making their letters using paper mâché. This was a really challenging task, using card to manipulate into their creative designs. Students embraced this task really well, developing life skills such as resilience, patience and perseverance. We are really proud of the Year 7s embracing this project.

Year 7 Textiles The Year 7s are learning about fundamental key skills in textiles, such as sewing a button, back stitch and running stitch. They have applied these new skills by creating their own junk monsters inspired by Jon Burgerman.
