GENERAL NEWS

Year 11 PSHE Day Year 11 had a real good opportunity to engage in relevant sessions as part of our PSHE day back in November. They rotated around the following 6 sessions during the day. • A session on applying to college with Esther and Tamara from Richard Taunton Sixth Form College • Time to research their possible pathways with Julia Gay, our school’s careers advisor • Session led by Solent Mind covering mental health conditions • Session with Yellow Door covering the dangers of pornography • A session lead by Geeta from Solent University about post-18 options including university options • Fertility/pregnancy and the factors that can affect it led by Miss Khan from science

Year 7 PSHE Year 7 had their first taste of a full day of PSHE in November. They really embraced the challenges and sessions delivered during the day. - A session exploring the topic of FGM led by staff from Yellow Door - Examining antisocial behaviour and the causes/ prevention with Miss Fison - Session with Solent Mind covering social media - Session with Yellow Door covering what makes up healthy relationships - Science session covering puberty and periods led by Miss Rendall - Developing their teamwork and resilience skills led by Miss Robinson and her “This Girl Can” student ambassadors
